So i was driving listening to a cd, cd stopped playing in a middle of a song and now my whole navi/comp froze. i cant get into any other mode, play song or anything and cant access my voice assist. I shut my car off and waiting a min and turned it back on and my navi screen still locked and jammed....what shud i do? did it break?

Idk if it's broken? Maybe it's a coding issue not really sure what year is your car? Try taking it to BMW see what they say. They will probably charge you just for breathing their air lol

haha i have an 2008. i dont understand how it can just mess up like that in the middle of me driving. Every time i start the car, it is stuck on the screen that i had up last, which is the cd screen with song stuck at one min lol. im still under warranty for another 2 months....

ok maybe it needs to be re programmed or something, you have the older idrive version, damn I wish I could help kind of stumped. take it in to bmw see what they have to say while its still under warranty, most likley they will tell you its not covered under warranty or its a simple issue that the can reset the system for you. good luck man

There is a master reset for the idrive, which I believe can be initiated by holding down certain buttons (the volume and both DVD and CD eject buttons?). If you search I'm sure you will stumble upon the proper method, as I can't remember off the top of my head...

still stuck taking car to dealer today. Why would it not be covered?
