iPod connection through iDrive

I understand that BMW now or soon will release an iPod adapter kit for E90/E91.

I also read somewhere that this kit is not compatible with bluethooth phone preparation (644). Is this correct.

Some newer BMW/Mini's will also not have an iPod interface connected (iDrive) if external BMW 6-CD changer is connected.

what is the exact story on this ?

If you look on the BMW website (not BMW USA), there is a mention about the iPod interface.

"The BMW iPod interface for the BMW 1 Series and BMW 3 Series (models from 03/05 onwards) additionally offers access to the entire iPod music collection as well as selection of genres, artists, albums and any amount of playlists."

You can see this for yourself at the following link:

I'm not sure of anything else, but this is a very good sign.

Addendum:
At the above website, go to the BMW Owners tab at the top of the page and select iPod interface.

JBM, thanks for the info. I was hoping that there were more facts on iPod connecting though.
