Keep AUTOclear or leave BMS DP fix V3?
Running catless DP's with JB4 with autoclear active for the past 1K miles, have had no problems, no codes etc. Logs are good aswell etc.
Got the BMS DP FIX v3, since i need to pass inspection and need my cats to read 'ready' as autoclear sets them as incomplete. So i basically got it just to pass inspection obv. My plan was to install the DP fix for the inspection and to remove it again, as to leaving it in forever and having to set it to the right setting if needed. My question now is, which is the better alternative? Does DP fix having set DP 'ready' have any performance or positives to it? |

Leave the DPFIX. According to Terry@BMS, it will allow for proper catalytic converter readyness codes. Those are needed to pass emissions testing.
CANClear, AutoClear just wipe the error codes and your car will never be able to pass emissions. EDIT: I've been running with the DP fix in my ECU compartment for over 2 years now. The car has been through recalls and all kinds of work at the dealership and not once they've seen it or noticed anything.

Not to my understanding. If anything, CANCLEAR and AutoCLEAR might delete some important codes in case something takes a dump...

CEL,SES, limps, will still show up via autoclear from my understanding tho. Def looks like DP fix is the way to go. |

Also, like someone else said, the DME will never reach the "ready" state needed to pass inspection with autoclear. The DME has to complete several cycles without being dicked with in order to pass inspection.

Something else to think about:
Every time you delete the DTC codes, you also reset all emissions readiness codes to INCOMPLETE. So not only that the catalytic converters will not have a readiness code, but ALL other emissions codes will be set to incomplete.

I interesting, just installed the DP fix on the JB4 today... Pretty easy.
Took off autoclear and will start driving around to set if the setting is good at the default position. Its good i can read all codes again, and all shadow codes. This def is the ideal way to go, JB4 autoclear seems like a temporary solution for sure. |

Thanks for the response Mike.
Will autoclear show shadow codes anywhere? I know CEL, SES, limps etc. will show up... Does DP fix show if there is a problem or code with the 02 sensors aka going bad? |

Yup...
Autoclear, will not set emissions via OBD, to the 'ready' state to pass inspection. All autoclear does is keep emissions at 'incomplete' and auto clear cat codes so you dont throw ses and codes because of having no primary cats. |

If you can have readiness what's the benefit of not doing so as suppose to clearing it? Performance there is no difference unless I am mistaken. Mike what is the benefit of it to constantly clear the o2 codes as suppose tO having them set to readiness????
