Fine Line btw. Stance and Performance
Dear E92ers ,
I am a new proud owner of an 08 E92 coupe as I am very happy to be a part of this community. I am a very big fan of stance and performance cars which brings me to the topic mentioned above. My question is how low of an offset can I fit on the E92 before it actually starts to impact the performance of the car? I am currently trying to decide on the best wheel tire setup, and based on what I have seen so far the most aggressive offset that I can get is +22 front and +20 rears. Does anyone have this setup on here? If so, please post some pics, and the specs of wheels size plus tires. How has it impacted your driving in a positive/negative way? If you are a person that does not mind to go fast, I totally understand that this may be pointless for you, or if you dont care too much about having an aggressive stance. However for everyone else likes the function, performance and looks please chip in, Thanks in advance guys Best, Alen |

I think im the exact same way as u. I like the perfect of both world when i like a aggressive stance and handle well.
Looking at the offset....i thin u need to get more details. Wheel spec? Tires spec? How much u are lowering it.

10" +30 offset is good for near flush and good tire size.

OP, I just did a chit ton of homework on the best flush fittment without compromising performance as i am also a new owner of an e92, but knowledgable about wheels/fittment/etc. To sum up my weeks of homework, i would go with somewhere in the below sizes if I were you: 19x8.5 et.+24-28 with a 235/35/19 thin wall tire (Toyo T1R/Falken 452) (or) 19x9 et.+26-30 with a 235/35/19 thin wall tire (Toyo T1R/Falken 452) The above fronts will put you pretty damn flush, but with still some mm's left btw tire and fender, if you choose to go low. (Keep in mind this is by no means Hellaflush, just good looking flush and within normal range of stock alignment specs) 19x10 et. +27-32 with a 265/30/19 thin wall tire (Toyo T1R/Falken 452) The above rear will allow you only go one size smaller in tire than the normal 275 for a 10" wheel, so very minimal stretch but still look good. Good balance of performance and looks. Also, you can stay in the low-mid range of stock alignment specs and still go low with only rolled fenders. Keep in mind +27-32 will require a rear fender roll only, no pull, depending on drop. From what i have read, 19x10" et.+25 will put the rear wheel about dead even with the fender, but with BMW's crappy fenders, you will have to run negative camber + rolled rears to clear the fender "ledge". Hope this helps |

You will not notice a difference in handling due to a change in wheel offset on the street. The difference comes with wheel width, tire size, weight, and ride height/dampening/rebound.

I think he's referring to the result of running too low of offsets (+ wheel width + tire size goes unsaid) which is having to run un-functional camber settings plus unfunctional stretched tires in the sense of inability to handle high speeds, handling in general, and not enough contact patch when trying to put power to the ground.

Hi Guys,
Thanks so much for the reply. Im really leaning to stick with 18 inch wheels, so the setup I would like to get would be 18x10 rear and 18x8.5 front. I just purchased the ST coilovers so I am waiting for those to arrive. Once they arrive I only want to have a finger space or less between the fender and the tire. I really do not want to mess too much with the fenders since I really dont want to crack the paint. Any wheels suggestions you guys might have for 18 inch wheels I would appreciate it, even if they are used forged wheels, like BBS CH , Thanks again, Alen |

I think 19x8.5 ET 25 Front and 19x9.5 ET 20-21 Rear (with a healthy roll)
With 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 Works perfect, nice and flush but with no poke on OEM alignment specs. Ran this on my 328i - ET21 rears, looked awesome rode great even lowered and minimal rubbing. Will be running ET20 rears on the new car lowered on ST V1's Once you get into hellaflush territory you'll be dialing in camber, stretching tires etc... gaining a phat look but arguably lowering ultimate performance and increasing tire wear.
