rough idle and light bucking/hesitation
hey everyone,
yesterday i noticed my 08 e90 xi was idling rough at 800 rpm compared to a smooth 600 rpm at full operating temperature. i took it for a ride and instantly started to notice alot of hesitations and a light bucking when cruising along. under WOT there is no bucking what so ever or hesistation but it occurs while trying to keep the car cruising at a regular speed. I parked it after taking it for a ride and let it idle to see if the rpm would drop off where it should be...no such luck. Standing outside the car while it idles you can hear the exhaust lightly backfire. My first thought is that im getting a misfire? The car has 68k miles and only mods done are intake and cobb stage 1. A few weeks ago i bought spark plugs bc i didnt want to wait the allotted time that bmw waits to replace plugs which i think is 90k. I planned on putting them in soon so maybe this is good timing ? what do you guys think? could it be a misfire from old plugs? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! J |
