Denatured Alcohol injection logs
Just contributing to the search function in case someone decides to do some research on methanol alternatives. Denatured alcohol is 90% ethanol/10% methanol. It can be bought at Home Depot or Lowe's in the paint section ($15). From that mixture, I added distilled water to form an 80%/20% denatured alcohol/water mixture.
Mods are JB4, DCI, 40% E85/60% 93 octane, Coolmist injection using 80/20 denatured alcohol/water. Peak boost: 17.0psi Timing curve: 10.8 degrees climbing to 12.7 degrees Conclusion: It is an OK alternative to Boostjuice (49%/51%) if you happen to run out. Unfortunately, even with an 80/20 ratio, it cannot hold a candle to Boostjuice in terms of sustained peak boost and ignition timing curve; I can hold 17.5psi with a solid timing curve starting from 10 degrees and climbing to 14.5 degrees near redline. I get some DME timing correction when I crank the boost to 17.5psi with my rather aggressive Denatured Alcohol mixture. IAT's are also affected by the lack of water in the mixture as they barely drop (it lowers to just 93F, ambien was 78F during the time of log) when my Coolmist injection system starts to pump the fluid as the logs indicate. The log below is each seperate value's, then the last one is a combination of each one. The log was done in 3rd gear.

Try running 70/30 mix or 60/40 mix instead. i have run denaturated alcohol since the beginning .
You are also maxing out pwm anyway so no more boost for you , get a G5

I've tried a 60/40 mixture for a couple days now with straight 93octane. I'll post logs soon when I can get my netbook hooked up, but according to the gauge hijack logging timing, it looks like the curve starts at 8 degrees with a timing drop around 4,800rpm and climbs to about 11. It peaks 16psi @ 4,900rpm, it's no better when I turn down the boost to 15.5psi either.
With Boostjuice and 93octane, I can run a solid timing curve and peak at 16.5psi, even in 4th gear. My mixture is by weight and not by volume. IAT's, however, do drop with the extra water in the mixture (maybe even more than Boostjuice, but it's negligible). Enrita, is your mixture by weight or by volume?

log of a 60/40 (alcohol/water), CM-10 nozzle, 93octane, 16psi peak, DCI, JB4 map 3. The timing drop is a big concern for me. It even happens when I turn down the boost to 15.5psi. There maybe something wrong with my set-up IDK? I've seen Enrita's logs, he has solid timing curves using Denatured Alcohol. I can't say I'm thrilled with the results, but I still wouldn't rule it out as an alternative (albeit one with a lower octane rating) methanol yet as others have used it successfully.
**Notice that the more water content you put in the mixture, the lower the IAT's go down when the fluid is sprayed (A very good thing)**

Update, after being turned off by the flow rate of a 60/40 concentration, I finally got the right mixture for my car at 50/50. Perfect timing curve, 17.5 peak psi, excellent flow rate, and feels as powerful as a similar meth/water concentration. A 50/50 mixture of denatured alcohol/water has a boiling point of about 195F, well above the 178F of a 50/50 meth/water mixture.
There comes a point where denatured alcohol might not work as well as meth though, but so far it works well with 17.5psi of peak boost, 40/60 E85/93 octane, DCI, and piggyback. Logs will be posted soon.

depends on your car and how it reacts. I did mine by weight.
