Need Some Advice.
Hi guys,
It seems like everyone is happy to be part of this forum and I would love to join this big BMW family, hopefully someone with experiences can answers some of my questions. I am actually looking to purchase an BMW 2008+ 335i coupe or convertible Exterior:black or White, Gray, Interior: RED, 6MT with mileage around 40k. What are pros and cons about 335i? I heard the twin turbo break down very easily, the watergate rattles. Should I go for an auction for a cheaper price or is not worth the risk? What is the price range that i should expect from? Even better if you are selling or know your friend is selling their 335i with my requirements. Please advice the noob!!! Last edited by pklaziemofo; 07-11-2012 at 03:40 PM.. |

If you find one with mileage around 40k it will be out of warranty. Other then that the 335i is such a great car ! Iam almost about to hit 40k on mine & never had a engine problem !

N54's in good condition are becoming harder & harder to find because they are becoming more affordable and the tuning scene knows how valuable this motor is. A good condition '08 can have anywhere between 30k-75k miles, so price can flucuate between 25k to almost 40k (depending on options, wear & tear on the car, if it just came off CPO, etc)
Pro's of the N54:
Cons of N54
The N54 just needs a little more love & attention.... BUT if you actively care + maintain it, she'll reward you with lots of smiles + kills |

^exactly. And expect to need coil packs, and spark plugs regularly. Along with injectors sometimes. They are the most common failing parts along with the fuel pumps.
I suggest not buying one that isn't under the oem extended BMW warranty (cpo)- which doesn't always mean buy from the dealership You can buy privately and the car still be a cpo. The warranty is on the car not the owner. Just something to be aware of. |
