So you left your tune in on an earlier visit and BMW saw it? If thats the case then that is completely different then removing a tune and the dealer refusing service because they SUSPECT a tune.

Complicated scenerio. Techs new what was in the car, advisor did not. My tech called in sick on the day he was suppose to do my vanos replacement. For some reason jo blow tech re flashed the dme and created a throttle adaption hiccup. Tech was clueless so they opened the ecu. They had opened a case for the hiccup, blamed it on the tune, and charged me to reflash dme. Took it to another dealership, told them all my mods and had foreman agree to do work. Had turbos, hpfp, and injectors all done after that incident, under warranty. They botched the injector work by leaving out oring/ couplers. When I took it back, they said no way we messed that up, it must be your tune and we can't do anymore. The third dealership discovered the missing parts and charged me for the work.
I HATE THE STEALERSHIP!!!!!

In another thread with some debate on this it was revealed the exceptions for rev limit and top speed being talked about are a first in first out list. But Cobb said they can in theory control if the exception is logged in the first place while tuned. assume no logs upto 7200

Lately I've been just taking my car in with full mods. My SA knows my car and I've always been honest about my mods. Not really fooling anyone. My warranty is up at the end of October so I just said screw it.
I've never had anything denied. I've had HPFP, the gauge/instrument cluster replaced, as well as both Vanos solenoids, and some minor squeaks/rattles looked into. The only problem I've had is that I'm pretty sure they always use my car for the lunch runs because it always comes back with a few extra miles on it.

Full mods, upgraded turbos, meth, .... I've only got nothing but compliments on how she sounded and looked. Only issue I had was the 40 mile "test drive" after an oil change. I did complain about the joy ride and got some BS about the QA guy was testing my fuel pump.
I'm not one to look for handouts and feels entitled that a dealer must pay for my/mod's mistakes. In other words, I accept the responsibility of paying out of pocket if shit happens.
