Passenger side mirror

Okay so this is doin my head in....why does the passenger side mirror have a mind of its own?

It seems every time I get in the car it's pointing in a different angle. So I change it and then it's okay til next time. Is it something to do with the reverse angle down feature and there is a preset angle?

Am I just seeing things?

right im not even joking this is doin my tits in.

if i click in reverse the mirror angles down and then when i back to D it goes to a completely different angle! is it just fucked or is there a preset somewhere that i dont know about?

there is nothing in the manual so im guessing there is something up with it. i keep having to change the angle of the mirror literally every time i get in the car!

Garage List
The mirror settings are stored with your seat settings, if you have memory seats.

Might be worth quickly storing any new position and seeing if it has actually stuck.

set your mirror when on D or neutral then press the M ( memory) button and select a number 1,2 to save your settings on the seat and whenever you finish reversing it should go back to to the same angle. did you know you can turn off reversing mirror if you put the button opposite.. hope this helps

and if that fails you can deleted all data to the key on idrive and reset everything.

Another thing is to USED the same key..don't swap around as it saves the users setting on the key!

To be honest my passenger mirror goes a bit weird sometimes. Memory seats etc but always the same key. It hasn't done it for a while and I just put it down to an occasional gremlin.

I had this on the 335, with the mirror settling in various positions that weren't set.

A software update (under warranty) cured it for me.

I had this problem, it was cured by dismantling the mirrors and cleaning the wiring connections. The work was carried out under warranty by the main dealer. Since having it done I am a bit careful now with the hosepipe when cleaning the car.

There's a thread in the DIY section about this on the first page. Connections seem to be the issue.
