Afraid not -it takes 3 hours via DVD or USB stick.

It might need coding to take advantage of the 7 digit post code entry but I doubt it. Ask a dealer to read your key and to check status.

No I mean if I ring BMWConnect in the car and say I want to go to number 7 at this postcode, then when they program the nav surely they just send coordinates to it?

What am I asking them to check the status of? Do I just ask if there is any updates for my car?

When I rang for the updated nav disc they priced me up for parts and labour and told me it needs coding.

Here are the dealer costs.

Many buy the DVDs from a dealer and obtain a FSC code elsewhere total cost about £75 compared to a dealer price of £430.

You need simply take your key into the dealer and ask them if the CIC firmware is up to date. Mine is a Sept 2010 build and it was as a few weeks ago. I updated the maps no problem. That is version 2.39 and higher.

Yours is older so you maybe unlucky. If it does need recoding - it looks as it will cost you £184 .50 + VAT plus the maps and FSC code for which ever route you choose.

Not worth it in my view.

Congrats on the purchase.. I guess your stocks went up or so cause I remember you having a much smaller budget a year ago.. definitely not able to stretch to a nice LCI model like you have!

Well done on the purchase hope you love it and can stick with it for some time to come

Thanks MEGA

The budget didn't get bigger, I just stretched it too far I am a bit of a technogadget lover so I had to get the right car and I was glad I waited in the end
