doesnt make sense

Did a quick mpg test on the way home today.

From Tumbridge Wells to Camberley basiclly 90% motorway middle of the day 30C air temp.

FIlled up tull with shell vpower diesel full to first click (been on vpower or utlimate for last 9 tanks), drove home about 62miles most on cruise at gps corrected 70mph.

Got home filled up straight away and car only barely took 2literes. About 4 clicks. Fuel gauge was not even moving.

THats aprox 130mpg if only

Now I know 320D are efficient but not like this. Only thing I can find of is the first pump clicked later than it should have. Otherwise cant think of another reason.

Still made be chuckle a the fuelly graph when I entered it

You are not going to get remotely accurate results over such short distances using that method.

It could be as simple as a slight slope on the garage forecourt causing the petrol to sit further back in the tank not allowing quite as much to be put in.

Fuel in tank expanded due to heat, so less need in the second fill?
