3335i Sport Suspenion OEM Tires vs. NON-RFTs

Ladies / Gents,

I am currently running the Bridgestone OEM RFTs on my 2010 335i w/ sport suspension. The road noise, as many of you know, is supremely obnoxious. I am going to non-RFTs. It seems as though everyone who has gone this direction LOVES the Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Can someone currently running these comment on the road noise? The TireRack reviews are very favorable for handling, etc. On the road noise front, are there any other tires users are running that are favorable? How's their handling?

Thanks!

I have the Michelin PSS and road noise is a TON better than the stock runflats. Bumps and whatnot are handled much better as well. I don't quite have the power of a 335i but when I'm having fun with the car there is definitely no shortage of grip.

ANYTHING is going to be a huge improvement over the OEM bridgestones. Take your best shot and you will never look back.

Agreed, PSS's are a good choice for a 'higher end' tire. Everyone hates the stock run flat :P Pretty much any non-run flat will be more comfortable. In terms of road noise, non-rft's will be quieter given the softer sidewalls.

Hi, I used this Hankook EVO S1 RFT with my e60 530i. http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Hankook/Ventus-S1-evo.htm . I also used Goodyear RFT, Bridgestone RFT. But Hankook is my favourite with its low noise, good comfort and high performance. Try it !

i have mich pss and am amazed at how much smoother and better the car rides. We have shitty roads where I work and live and the difference on stock sport suspension is night and day

Go with non-RFT. I personally would recommend Michelin PSS or Hankook V12.

As the others have said, the PSS is not a loud tire at all!

Gary,

I bought the tires from tire rack and had them shipped to a preferred installer. The installer originally quoted me $100 to do the switch and then came out 15 min after starting the job and told me it would be $140 because they were run flats. Did I get hosed?

They might charge a bit more to dismount run flat tires since they are a bit stiffer and slightly harder to work with, but they should not charge extra to mount non run flat tires.
