Rough idle, power surge, stall solutions?
Ok, I've read all kinds of threads on rough idling, power surges, and stalling engines, but there doesn't seem to be any solutions mentioned. I've had all these problems since my last service which included a new fuel pump and new progman which was done probably about 4 months ago. The rough idle usually happens when the engine is cold. The stalling has happened when the engine is warm and usually with the AC on in warm weather. The power surges are mostly when I am sitting at a stop or in park and the engine is warm. Although I've felt my car surging on acceleration and cruising as well. The only reason I'm posting this is cause I'm due for another service soon and I want to be able to discuss possible solutions with my SA. Thanks in advance for your reply.

I had the same problem, problem was fixed today....it was a bad O2 sensor......I also had a "Service Engine Soon" light on and would on occasion get a 1/2 engine limp code if I was on a really bumpy road.....
new O2 sensor installed today and the car feels great!! |

Damn, that's what I think the problem is with my car.^
I just installed a JB1 piggyback and my car has rough idles (drops to 500rpm at times), limp mode issues (solved easily by restarting the car, and doesn't occur too often), and unusual power deliveries when accelerating right after slowing down (not too frequent).

O2 sensor! Take out the JB1 and take it in to the dealer! Have you noticed your mileage also drop recently? |

I have the exact same symptoms! I'll be taking it in car in this weekend to check my O2 sensor, I hope this fixes the problems. Thanks for the help.

So it's been a few day since I have been to the dealer they checked over the computer and they came up with this solution. Go buy two bottles of chevron techron. Put one in at a half tank and run it low. Then fill up and put in the other. Believe it or not it has helped still a little rough when cold but other than that it's not bad. My car is also bone stock at the moment.
