TPMS warned I have a flat tire for sometime

Hi folks,
Yesterday I was driving around 70mph when I got the alert on iDrive saying I have a flat tire. I reached my destination, reset the TPMS and after couple of hours drove back home. I drove close to 60 miles after resetting it. Since then I havent seen the warning again. Do I have a faulty sensor or the tire is really gone?

Do you have a bubble in the tire? Also, I had a similar situation and it was b/c the rim had a slight tiny hairline fracture and it produced a leak and this obviously kept setting off the tpms.

You should verify the correct pressure using a pressure gauge before resetting the TPMS. Your tires and or wheels could be completely fine, maybe they're not.

+1, use a gauge to check the air pressure, add air if needed

Im having the same thing except i cant reset it just says inactive. i check pressure & its all good.

Why would you reset it without actually checking your tires?

Did you recently change anything in your wheel/tire setup? Different sizes/staggered etc?

If so - this could be the problem..

There are 2 types of TPMS systems from what I know:

1 - The actual hardware unit which is installed in your wheel
2 - A sensor that measures any change in pressure/rolling ratios (yellow warning if it senses a gradual leak/red if the pressure drops drastically signalling a puncture) - this is what I have and this has happened to me before.. the first time I picked up a nail.. the second time it was because I just swapped over to bigger summer wheels and tyres.. Once I reset it from the dash - it went away

But the simple thing to do is monitor the pressures in your tyres using a gauge.. write down the PSI's today on all 4 and check on them every day for a week and you'll see whats going on
