You can figure this out by looking at Edmunds used car prices and compare any 2003 and a 2004 BMW 3-series both with the same mileage. It looks like at least $2,000 to 3,000 difference on average.

Also, FYI, my dealers here are saying they don't expect more than a few hundred dollars increase in price...far less than the depreciation difference.

You lose around 6k driving the vehicle off the lot, be it a 2k7 or 2k8. It's not as simple as you make it out to be, the auto business is very sophisticated. You open the door, and you can see if a car is built in 9/07 or 9/06. A car does not lose 3k because the sticker says 9/07 instead of 11/07. Accountants invented something called apportioning.
