I remember I read somewhere on the forum that E9x (330/335/M3) have bigger fuel tanks, but cannot remember how big.
Mine is standard 62 litre tank.

I know it was a joke. Just being factual about the real size.

It does seem most of BMW 6 cylinder engines can be very economical if driven in the right way.

BMW claims(from memory) 41mpg on a run and 32mpg combined for the 335i.

I live in Aberdeen city centre which is a congested city and spend 12 days doing short drives in traffic. Then I head to my hometown every second weekend which is a 130 mile drive mainly dual carriageway but involves travelling through Dundee and my overall average ends up 28mpg.

I think if you cruised at 60mph 41mpg could be achieved.

However that isn't the reason anyone would buy a 335i but it isn't bad that you have the option of being fuel efficient when needed and a car capable of providing a good turn of speed too.

Couple month ago with my 325i e91. 200mile trip on motorway I was getting 40.3 mpg 78mph. I was really impressed width that economy of 2.5 petrol. Comparing with my previous car Citroen c4 1.6 hdi. 47mpg.
I will see proper economy of my car when I take for long trip to Lithuania true France Belgium, holland, Germany Poland and than Lithuania. That's about 2000 km.

well what i hadnt mentioned (dunno why i forgot to do so) was that on the way down, I reset the trip counter in Edinburgh, and when we arrived at the hotel in Harrogate, the counter was showing 41.5mpg.

That was a pretty steady A road run though at between 60-70 on cruise the whole way.

Pretty surprising economy though!!

I can get to Liverpool and back on one tank, 230 odd miles each way. happy with that.
