Eu 2009 Dct/dkg N54?

Hi Guys,

As i'm in the proces of getting a new but used 335 e92, I discovered that there has been a period that BMW delivered 335 N54 cars with DCT/DKG? Is this correct? Period is between 2009 and 2010...

Is this the same gearbox as the 335is? And how much torque can this DCT handle? Are there known issues when tuning the power on the car?

Thansk a lot!

It is correct, there was a DCT 335i N54 for Europe. If you plan to keep it stock or with just a flash, I would say it's a better option than the Steptronic. But if you want more than this, it will slip quickly. I once read that it's not the same DCT as the 335is (the 335is is the M3 gearbox while the 335i DCT is a bit weaker and the same as on the 135i DCT), but I think it is the same.

I think it's for the E92 M3 DKG, i don't think the 335 and the m3 uses the same gearbox (maybe 335is)

i think you should MT if you want to run RBs as well. Upgrade the clutch and you are done.

Just back from a car... it's a 2009 with 50k km. Perfect history, all warranty items have been done:

- Injectors
- Fuel pumps
- Ignition coils

Always been handled by a BMW dealer and all maintenance has been done by the book.
It does has the DCT. I checked with my mechanic about this gearbox.

It is the M3 gearbox with some different parts as the gearbox has to be connected to a 6i instead of a V8. But the rest is the same, including same type number.

I think given the deal I can make, that I will go for this one, even with the weak clutches. I made some phone calls and it seems that there are German companies offering "beef up" services.
Normaly I would go for a MT, but it is also my drive around office and calling, beeing in traffic jams etc is just more convenient in an AT to my opinion. Taking the risk of a new cluch pack on a yearly base. On the other hand, the DCT/DKG shifts like a maniac... :-)
Other negative parts was the business nav instead of pro nav, but I found a shop that sells pro navs for about 1400 euro. I will contact Patrys to see if he can help me out with codes etc.

So give the above statement, please aprove and or comment, and if there are no showstoppers, I will buy the car tommorow....and start rebuilding next week.... :-)

Could you please tell me what/where these German companies are? I just bought a US spec 335is (US military stationed in Germany) with DCT and I plan on start modding it.

I don't have the exact names yet... will absiolutly let you know when I have them...
The issue are the parts... there are many companies that can install them, not many have improved parts...

A US company that has quite some knowledge is:

I know SSP very well. I just sold my evolution X for this BMW and the evo had SSP parts.

I also get parts at US prices and with US shipping costs, just got to find an install place.
