steering wheel peeling :(
Any suggestions on repair? anyone have experienced this? If the plastic was at least black, it'd be OK, but it's white stands out like hell haha
Thanks! |

Well. I only searched this forum, and didn't come with any results. After a more extensive search, there seems to be a ton of info in the DIY and Cosmetic/lighting forums here are some links incase other people just search this forum.

Interesting point. I had mine replaced under warranty 5 years ago. I had the same issue, the SA was kind enough to replace it along with the inside door handles which were also peeling off for free. After 3 years or so now the new one is also starting to peel off (steering wheel) but its black and not white like yours so its much better since is not as noticeable. Hope you are under warranty as ask to replace it? Good luck!

All fixed the picture is not very good because of the flash, the alcantara is not grey. Was a bit tricky to remove the cover. Wish the whole steering wheel was alcantara.

Had same issue on my previous 330i (e46). I removed the trim, sanded it down, adhesion promoter (USE LIGHTLY), then 4-5 coats of Duplicolor matte black. Even my wife was surprised at how good it looked. Total cost was about $6, as already had adhesion promoter in stock.
