Please help before I just sell this car.
History of car.. 2009 automatic, dci,HPF intercooler, cpe catless dp's. I have had the jb4 with the g5 board for over a month now. About twice a week somehow the jb4 loses power and won't turn back on. When it turns off I can't use steering wheel controls to operate it nor can I plug the USB into my computer. It just loses power somehow. What I've ben doing to fix it, is unplug the power cords to the jb4 harness and meth power cord. Then make sure they r all tight and good. This works for about 3-4 days then somehow I have to do it all over agin. Once the jb4 turned off and I pulled over and poped the hood and just hit the ecu cover a couple times and then it turned back on. Any thoughts??? I know all the power wires are tight and secure. Could it be something inside the black box comming loose or some other wires comming loose??? Any help is appreciated.

It's not your car...you might think about selling your JB4, since that's what seems to be having a problem.

Or get in touch with Terry and I guarantee he will have the problem resolved for you. I havent heard of this every happening before so hopefully its a fluke or a one time incident. Regardless, Terry will take care of it for sure so just shoot him an email!

Sounds like it's something wrong w/ the tune & not the car (especially if when the car's working, it's 100% fine)

Mine was just doing the same thing a few weeks ago. I kept messing with the power wire since that's what Terry thought it might be but he said my car wouldn't run if it wasn't making good contact regardless. Ended up sending it to him and he replaced a crystal or something and now it works flawless. Also, mine was the JB3 converted to the JB4, he thought that might had something to do with it as well.

Never knew the JB3/JB4 was crystal powered, good to know. Though I'm sure because of the cheaper price then Proceed, Terry probably uses cubic zirconium vs. the Procede having diamonds.

Thanks for the replies. I just uninstalled and reinstalled last night and it's working fine now. However if it does it agin I will send it back to terry for inspection. Cause this has happened at least 10 times now.

Did you contact Terry? I would pick up the phone and talk to him about it. Much better solution.... and about 1/2 hour of your time.

had a similar issue with my procede and it turned out that with the certain version of DME software, it was dropping voltage on the power wire I was tapping off of (I think I was on pin 2). I switched to tapping power off of pin 8 I believe, and the issue never came back.
