Cobb FBO Map decision
Hey guys,
I currently have vrsf dp's, helix fmic, bms dci, and vanguard exhaust and I have been trying some of the different maps on stage 2, just 2 to be exact. Just wondering why stage 2 maps seem slower than the stage 1 +fmic map. Seems like stage 1 +fmic seemed more responsive and why more powerful than stage 2 +fmic drive, or sport. I guess now that I have dp's stage 1 is out of the question because of the cel. Anyone want to chime in on this? I am looking for performance closer to the stage 1+fmic. Should I try the aggressive set up. I don't want too much, but just something closer to the stage 1+fmic setup. Let me know guys. Thanks in advance |

The cobb stg1+ is more aggressive (load/timing) than stg2 drive or sport.
Subjectively speaking, I also felt stg1+ agg was more of a hoot than stg2+ agg, but alas they are quite similar maps with stg2+ being a tad more aggressive. It's all placebo pasta. Download ATR and deselect the o2 toggles for stg1+ if you're interested in running it CEL free.

Honestly I've been thinking about it alot since yesterday (dp's went in yesterday) the power feels similar but maybe more smooth... I was hoping for more power overall... So I guess I'll be going e85 next

instead of relying on the old butt dyno, why not get it on the dyno or vbox it? Stage2+FMIC, stock throttle, done.
PS: The aggressive maps will not be a smart move on your 91 octane piss gas.

No dyno's anywhere near me. I run 93 only right now. E85 is 85% ethanol "flex fuel". Take a look around the forum and I think you'll know why I want to use it

Op just looking at both maps on ATR the Stage 2+ aggressive is mapped to make more power than Stage 1+ aggressive. It has a higher load target and more timing among other things. You want to run the right map for your mods and octane period. You don't want to run the aggressive maps with crappy 91 octane as it's to aggressive and you don't want to run sport maps with 93 as you're leaving alot of power off the table. |

+1 for PTF
OP, you live in Cali so if you only have access to 91, run the Sport Maps only. If you have access to 93 & the logs are okay, run the Aggressive. Just make sure to log & confirm that the engine is "happy" with whatever Map you decide to run. If you only have access to 91, I would recommend getting a ProTune'd Map made, maybe even 2 -- One for Max Power Pump Gas & another for an E85 Blend Map |

If you have 93 run stage 2+ FMIC Aggressive. If you have 91 run the sport map of 2+ FMIC.
Log it. Post logs and we can tell you if its aggressive. Logs: 3rd Wide open throttle, from 2000 RPM to red line. Traction control off. Log Sensors: Throttle blade TPS Boost PSI RPM Air fuel Bank 1 and or 2 Air intake temp IAT Ignition advance |
