Thoughts on intercooler size
I am wondering what you guys think about different size intercoolers. I am thinking that if you go with a some of the really big intercoolers that it would affect spool up time because there is a lager volume of air that the turbos must compress before reaching optimal boost levels. I would like to know what is the optimal size before going too big. Also bigger isn't always better with everything. It seems like some of those bigger intercoolers look to be rather heavy. One thing I don't want to do is add weight to these already heavy cars.

Depends on your "goals" as so famously recited by 99% of the members.
If you just want a DD beast, any of the smaller 5" or hybrid FMIC's are perfect. If you want a full blown track car and big power, you'll likely need a beast of an FMIC. I'd say smaller is better in this case As long as its not the stock one lol...that's just ridiculously small. |
