I did the "intake for skeptics", the charcoal delete on the stock airbox. Did it help? Maybe. Maybe I saved $400. |

After spending the money on the performance intake from BMW. In my option it might give you 1-5hp but if I was to do it over again I would just buy the K&N drop in filter and charcoal delete.
The only difference I have seen between doing the drop in and performance is that the performance intake is alittle bigger. But for the price and what the gains are I bet the drop in does the same as the performance. Just my option.

I have this intake. The sound is great. Surge problem seems to be gone. The only thing i don't like about it is the fake cf cover. I'm thinking of painting it blue to match my car's color. If you guys want power then a 3 stage manifold + AA tune will do.

I have this intake on my 325i. It sounds great, especially around 4k rpm. When I placed the order I was under the impression the cover was real carbon fiber, and was very disappointed when I saw it in the box. It resembles mini chessboards more than it does carbon fiber. I am definitely going to repaint it.
The gasget supplied for the MAF is a cheap round foam piece that doesn't create a good, reliable seal, your better off making your own gasket out the foam you can get at a hobby store (not suggesting that, just making a point). As far as noticeable gains, don't expect it. For me I had to settle with just the awesome sound and continue on trying to get out of the shadows of the 330i as far as hp is concerned. |

Nice heads up on the cheap gaskets. I ordered one the other day and it will arrive on the 14th. Was going to buy the euro box, but I found a dealer that price matched the AFE to the Euro box.

Currently this and Euro box are too pricey for an impulse buy.
