Electric seat broke?
So, took my car to have centre box removed and new rear tips. Little chap moved my car, seat all the way close to the steering wheel. I jumped in to leave, went to move seat forward and it just twisted!
So after much head scratching they removed the seat and a cable had snapped under the seat so only one side of the runner was moving hence it twisted and stopped? They managed to get a drill on the remaining bit to manoeuvre the seat back. Anyway it's now stuck in situ. This is the piece that fell out, So, did a bit of googling and checked real oem but can't seem to find the part. One thread suggested the cable is not available from BMW and you have to buy a new subframe? ££££ He then got an Allen key, then modified it, and used this to bridge the gap? Anyone experienced this before I start butchering my tool kit!!

I have, I think I have the replacement part in my garage. Something jammed under my seat and one side snapped. Is it the smaller or larger wire that has snapped? There is one on each side.
I have the longer one which I guess u could cut down. I ended up buying a cloth seat for just that little part. PM if you want it and we can sort something out. HTH |
