Castrol, BMW oil of choice?

Here is proof castrol is BMW's oil of choice.

My question is...... is it any different from the oil you can get in the auto store?

From my understanding..Castrol oil sold in U.S. auto stores is NOT the same Castrol (BMW Branded) oil sold in BMW dealerships.

Just buy the oil from the dealership. It's not going to cost you an arm and a leg.

Sorry, that was an old link from the East TN SCCA site. It didn't used to have a log in. Ignore it. It did have an extremely indepth explaination about motor oil. Sorry you can't read it. It was good.

Redline is great oil, last a LONG time. Supposedly last 15,000 miles, but if you change it every 3,000 miles you'll have virtually no engine wear.
