Door card question

My car has had a full m3 interior, but clearly it must have spent some time in storage and both front door cards have marks/ scuffs on them but only on the black plasticky bit at the top that wraps round to the bottom. The centres are ok ( red leather with lighting strips.)

So are the cards split able ? Can I replace the part of the door card or is it re trimable?

Difficult to make out marks but it's the bit directly below window and it appears to be one piece that wraps round to the bottom inc door pockets.

I did consider one of these repair places but to many small marks to make financial sense if an easier option?

Mine was marked at the bottom. Its one piece.
You might try a SMART repair expert - they can do clever things with interior now.

Thanks for reply. Hoping this wasn't the only option but may have to go down this route.

Not sure this helps but hVe you tried one of those magic blocks from Halfords? I've managed to get scuffs off interiors before today with those. Requires muchos elbow grease but might be worth a cheap first go?

Not had an E9* series card off but certainly possible on E46 if you've the patience.
Likely to be similar construction.

Trouble is as in storage not just scrapes, couple of marks have fully cut the vinyl so to far for some products. Really need recovering IMO.

Don't want to replace as rest of cards to good, just need a new vinyl bit or to be able to cover it, eg split door card first.

Was hoping I could split, cover in alcantara, red stitch and put back!

Garage List
They are very difficult to split. The trimmed panel has pegs that go through the main door card and they are heat sealed together. They can be spearated by melting these plastic pegs and prising the panel and the door card apart but it makes a hell of a mess.

When reassembling you can't get the standard of finish of the original.

My advice would be to speak to a specialist interior trim smart repairer - they can do some clever stuff. In the "old days" when bluetooth did not exist all carphones were fitted into cars and this left screw holes in the dashboard and trim. An industry developed to repair this damage since the kits were invairably removed when the car was eventually sold.
