Problems with JB4

I've had the JB4 for approximately 2 months now working fine on map 1. Today in the morning the car worked fine on my 45 minute drive to work. During the afternoon I start the car and noticed that the needles didn't sweep and it bogged when coming down from 1,000 RPM to ~500 RPM idle. Once it reached the ~500 RPM it stabilized and idled fine. I tried to enter the JB4 menu with the steering wheel buttons and it won't go in. It didn't flash the signal lights once the oil temp rised from 160. The car ran well after the startup bogging, but the JB4 was not working. Has this happened to anyone before? Tried to shut down and re-start the car several times and the problem persists.

It seems that the JB4 doesn't have power... Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks!

Just happened to me tonight. Did you get this resolved? In some cases the issue was related to a loose power wire to the JB4. There is also a mode if the JB4 detects a board error to lock in Map 0.

I don't think it's the power wire in my case since I remember it being a very tight and snug fit. Also I've had some gauge hijacking stop working randomly over the last week.

Anyone else ever hear of a JB4 board going south?

Can not access JB4 via steering wheel controls or USB either.

Sounds like a wiring/harness issue for sure, but I wouldn't discredit a board issue either. I would say check your wiring and all connections before you do anything else.

I had the same problem a few months ago, and I sent it back to Thierry and changed something in the JB4. I would say check all the wires, especially the power wire and see if its better. If not, send it to Terry and he will test it for you.
If you have the USB cable, plug it in the computer and see if it works, I think that if the JB4 isn't powered, you won't get anything on the computer

Check your wiring, after that you may want to contact BMS. I think there may have a been a few boards that needed some fixes.

Finally got a chance to check the JB4 wires and all was good as i suspected. The Jb4 is on route for Terry to inspect. I figure I might as well upgrade to the new G5 board anyway.

exact same thing happened to me. gauge hijacking stopped working a number of times over the course of a week or so previous to the JB4 becoming completely unresponsive. Checked all wiring, everything was fine. Sent the board back to T, although I'm not sure what the issue ended up being. took the opportunity to upgrade to a 15ohm G4 (this was back in March).

^Yeah, my issues were strange and intermittent. I would also lose manual mode sometimes after about 20 mins of driving. I would park start the car start it again and I was fine. PT CAN and CANSYS communication errors as well. I'm not entirely sure it is related to the JB4 but I hope so.. Have you had any problems since?
