Procede logs, anyone have one for comparison?

Anyone w/ a otherwise stock car besides procede have some data logs they can attach? id like to use them for a reference

also, does anyone know if you can get the procede to log speed? i know shiv has posted some logs w/ speed before :/ but i cant seem to get it, i added the road speed, and anything else w/ speed channel and got nothing

and i cant use the math function either as it will be wrong for every gear but the one it gets written for <_<

I can try to dig something up, but post yours. I'd like to see it.

Speed is easy to determine. First, get the gear ratios and determine the mph/rpm for each gear.

If you're doing acceleration runs, note what gear you are in at certain times. It's easy from a standstill because you'll start in first and each dip in boost means another shift. From your data, you have RPMs. Multiply that by your earlier calculated mph/rpm.

Voila, you have speed.

Note this is wheel speed, so slippage will result in overstated speed values. But that's typically only a consideration at lower speeds.

You can also use this data to calculate 0-60, 1/4 mile, etc.

yea i knew that about speed, (hence why i said i could only write a channel for one gear) i was just wondering since i had seen one of shivs logs before and it was logging speed, i think he may have had an extra wire in his harness

i dont have the logs on my desktop though they are on my laptop and my wireless isnt up right now <_<

im trying to find if boost pressure is spiking FYI

My car is stock beside PROcede and I get some minor spikes flooring the pedal. Would like to see your logs as well. You can use an usb-stick to transfer data from the laptop to the desktop pc. BTW these spikes will disappear with v2.

well the point was to compare ghetto BOV to stock to see if walked you was a unique case or not, it seems like hes not since i found LOTS of 16+psi spikes, but the thing that bothers me now, is ive been finding one or two (way far less than w/ the ghetto shit) plain stock w/ procede, under full throttle <_<

ill get the logs up eventually but its such a pain to hook my router up

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Shiv say something about these spikes are irrelevant? Meaning they are artifact of where the pressure is mesured? Maybe I'm thinking of this in a different context...

no those spike were the spikes before the DV open during sudden throttle closures, the spikes im talking about are the bad kind under full throttle load that is seen in the intake manifold, and presumably not corrected for with fuel causing a lean burn and loss of power as well as engine damage

You expect boost spikes during acceleration somewhere or just in the first moment you floor the pedal ? They are just in the first moment and less than 1 psi on my car ( v1.47 ).

ummm... fuck

now im really nervous, you dont have a single log showing 14 psi, and im regularly boosting 14.x+ in addition to spikes not in yours...

i cant imagine the senors are reading differently

shiv once said up to 14 is normal, but im regularly 14.5+ up to 15 sometimes for extended times

The PROcede measures boost in the upper intercooler pipe. Even with the throttle open, there is a pressure drop by the time it gets into the intake manifold. Subtract ~0.5psi from what you see in the PROcede software to get your actual boost. Or just install a boost gauge and reference off of the vacuum line that goes into one of the bypass valves. As proven by more data that one can shake a stick at, there is nothing unsafe about v1.x so there is no reason to panic.

oh no im not saying theres anything unsafe about the procede at all, this was originally to see if disconnecting your diverter hoses would yield boost spikes, but then comparing logs with eugen, he has much lower boost recorded, his is 13.x and mine is 14.x - 15.x

i figured there would be a drop to the manifold from restriction but that doesn't matter when comparing logs to another persons, unless the senors are calibrated differently (but i doubt that since they are needed by the ECU to calculate fuel injection)

see where it spikes to 15+ and how its @ 14.x for a long time, bad or not? and in similar fashion ive seen some 16+ spikes in the same area

Hey man, perhaps Eugen is at higher altitude. his "baseline" boost is therefore lower. If you're idling, I bet your PROcede log shows 0psi. his probably shows -2psi. That's because of lower ambient pressure.

So when his says "12psi" it's -2+14=12

When yours says "14psi" it's 0+14=14

that could have something to do with it, but his altitude should be corrected for by the ecu

but totally makes sense, still a bit worried about the spiking though

While it'd be great if the ECU completely corrected for ambient pressure loss, I can verify that it does not. Additionally, as the pressure ratios go up, the ability of the small turbos to produce the requested boost diminishes.

Shiv's testing on the Grapevine (CA) showed similar results.
