How long will tires last sitting in storage?..(m)

If I take my run flats off early in order to have them for when I sell (or when I turn in if I decided not to buy at end of lease), will they still be ok in 3 years, 5 years? Will anything bad happen to them if they sit in an enclosed but not climate controlled shed?

In Alabama, I would maybe find some place climate controlled to store them. Keep them sealed, out of the light and you should be just fine.

BUT In an enclosed shed? In Alabama? It's going to get hotter than hell might be bad for the tires.

Birmingham England.. No worries, keep em' dry and closed up, they'll be good to go.

So if I keep them in a dark climate controlled room, there would no need for covers, woud there?

You really want to keep em' out of the light, dust, air as much as possible. All of these things will age tires faster.

BUT from experience no, in a decently controlled environment, tires will survive and be healthy for years without a cover of any sort. Keep them off their tread, inflated most of the way, and you shouldn't have any trouble at all with your tires when you go to put them back on.
