cant believe you used fairy liquid, that evil stuff has grit in it, sounds like you got a decent plan bud

Can you not get zymol from your local motorfactors?

The proper Zymol stuff can only be bought from approved retailers but you can get a bargain on Ebay sometimes.
There was a detailer near Brandshatch having a clear out just 2 weeks ago (they were selling starter kits at just £50) but all stock is now gone.
Do a google search for Zymol and you should find a detailer near you.
I`ve been using Ital glaze now for about 2 yrs and its fantastic.

I've always got my Zymol through Parc Ferme

A couple more places:

www.monzacarcare.com - Never bought from them, but they are partners of a detailing chappie over at babybmw.net

www.vertar.com - Bought from in the past without problems.

Polished Bliss.... speak to Rich and tell him Paul sent you. When I was a new customer he spent about 20 mins on the phone and typed up a detailed maintenance plan for my car for me. They have given nothing but excellent advice and are always around for a question when cleaning issues arise!

An example relevant to your question: I asked them what I should get to protect the plastic/rubber on the car, expecting some expensive product recommendation, and they recommended the Carbon wax they'd already sold me. It works great! I've used it on my missus' car's plastic bits also and it works a treat.

Holy crap. Looking at some of the sites above, that zymol stuff is seriously expensive.

I think I will stick with Meguiars and TurtleWax

You get what you pay for ... as they say.
Or a fool and his money is soon parted.

Hmmm.... well it works for me.
