Broken Serpentine Cable on 09 335i
A few days ago, I heard a loud ticking noise coming from the engine bay that sounded like the injectors being particularly loud. After driving it for a few miles, the AC and power steering failed and the ticking noise stopped, yet the vehicle had no loss of power, which lead me to believe(correctly) that it was not engine related and instead related to the alternator or a belt. After taking it to the dealer, they concurred that the serpentine belt shredded and could be replaced. It is still under warranty and the part is $50, so I'm not too worried about the belt failing again, but I would be concerned about one of the pulleys failing or the water pump going bad due to this failure. Does anyone have any advice for what to look for/ask when I pick up the car tomorrow? I can't see the belt unless I remove the air duct, but should I ask if they replaced the tensioner pulley or if they looked at the water pump for any damage? Thanks!

Your water pump is electric so you won't have to worry about that. Ask them to check for damage and have your SA put it in the repair order (RO). Everything they do should be in the completed RO when you pick up your car.
