the tire from the infiinti fell off while driving..
when i rolled past i saw the rims still on the car too..

That's messed up :s

Maybe there was an improper deal and lack of air pressure and then the heat and force of driving 100km/h caused it to roll right off....

Hell, who knows lol....

Happened to my wifes car. Sidewall teared through so all you see is the low sidewall on the rim.
The dumb thing is that is the infinity person knows they have a flat why the hell arent they on the shoulder instead on the middle lanes.

Happened to me with my TL going 70mph (112km or so) on the way back from Lake Placid, NY 2 years ago.

Note the sidewalls are still on the rim

The bead/tread came straight off

Car kept going straight perfectly fine, no issues or loss of control. I only realized that it came off when I slowed down to 60mph and the tire went ahead of me (no I'm not joking on this). We radioed the cars ahead with the two ways to stop and the tire went passed them as well (rolled for a good 500m and then off the road).

that is scary...
is there a reason for this happening? like too much tire pressure or too little?
or is it just a freak event
i just want to make sure this doesnt happen to my cars

Taken from ehow:

If you ever drive on a tire that is too low on pressure, you could also cause the tire to separate from the rim. This basically means that the beads have pulled away from the tire.

So perhaps they were driving on a slow leak, and then finally the tire separated.

Pretty crazy stuff.

PS - lucky you, your dashcam doesn't show your speed
