just had mine through, renewal notice was £493, online quote as a new customer £287. At least being in my 40s has some benefits (for a 335i FC inc Doris as a named driver)

Watch the likes of Elephant, Admiral, Sheila's Wheels, Bell, Diamond (and a few others I can't recall). They are all part of the Admiral Group and often come up cheaper on the likes of confused as they also own that.
They count factory fitted options as modifications (I know as I canceled a policy after reading the small print and discovering they wanted to charge me more for heated seats, adaptive headlights, front and rear parking sensors, professional media, I kid you not) Also, they reserve the right to repair your car after a smash using second hand parts if its over three years old (in the policy small print). That would be nice.
