DCU / LA Game - yes the one w/Beckham (in theory)

I know there are at least a couple of former DC United fans around here so I thought I'd put this up.

DCU has released the last remaining tickets for next Thursday's game to long time season ticket holders (so their email says). And as one of the faithful, I can get a few more tickets to this "sold-out" game. Let me know asap. Seats are coming up scattered around the lower bowl and at $26. There are pairs together and sometimes 3 in a row but we can't select the seats. I can get a grand total of 6-8 seats.

I'm not talking amoeba ball!

Real football. You know you actually kick it, with your foot no less!! 90 minutes with only 1 (yes you read that right, ONE) stop in the game!!!

Forget that pointy ball stop and start and change out players every other time you move crap. Or squeakball or slowball... Hockey is okay.

(note: as a child of the real Joe Gibbs era, I have been know to watch a pointy ball game or two)

I got a ticket via a co-worker whose son plays at one of the Ashburn kids soccer leagues. It's for $35 and I think down near field level. Hope its a good ticket.

+1. A kick in the gonads with a soccer ball will sort him out.

Went to the game last night. Got drenched (was in the 200 level seats behind the tunnel) but saw Becks play. LA Galaxy suck, I mean, they are BAD. Luckily Becks will inject some much needed creativity, life, spark etc into the team.

DC United on the other hand are quite good.

If peeps were upset, they didn's show it. Heck, the DC supported got a kick out of booing him. The ladies loved him of course, especially when he took off his shirt at the end.

We loved it the 2 times he took off his shirt

A lot of the crowd was there to support DCU. That Beckham was there and played was icing. At least 9 of the 16 people I got tickets for were there to see DCU and could care less if he played. It was nice but not gonna ruin the night.

A better bonus is the people we got tickets for who wanted to see Beckham found themselves watching and enjoying the whole game and asked about going back :rocks:
