Will it harm anything to run without the plastic engine cover?

Scheduled for a dyno session next week, but it's roughly 100 miles away.

Will it hurt anything to run without the engine cover? Not sure if the coils would bake, etc.

Don't drive in the rain or wash the engine without that cover, though. The injectors are not waterproof.

Otherwise, pull it off for track days, drag racing runs, if you live in the desert, and don't mind the extra clicking from the injectors. Those suckers are noisy.

it is REALLY loud without it on there - not a good loud either. i advise against it. You don't need to remove the whole thing for the dyno, just the front screws is all that's needed to be removed

I used to assume I would run without it as soon as I was off warranty, but when I took it off the other day to change the plugs there was a pretty good coating of oil mist and dirt on it. It's kind of nice not having all that gunk on all the stuff under it. I think I'll run with it forever now.

I tried that last time. Couldn't find the correct wire to clamp the tach sense lead to for the dynometer.
