So it’s time for new tires, my rears are starting to show the wear lines. I currently have the Hankooks VENTUS V12 evo and was looking to try something new. These tires have been good but I am looking for better steering response and more comfort. Can you please suggest some tires that are comparable to hankooks but have better steering response and comfort. Thanks!!

You might want to share what type of Hankooks you have. Just a thought.

The Michelin Pilot Super Sports are a popular street tire for dual duty, and is supposed to be very comfortable as well.

Plenty of people use the PSS for just street driving and have been extremely happy with it. However, if you're looking for a less expensive option, you can look into the Yokohoma S. Drives, which should be similar to the V12s but a tad bit more comfortable.

If by "better steering response" you mean crisper turn-in, you might be hard-pressed to find a tire that is also "more comfortable". Generally speaking, the crispness of the turn-in is directly proportional to the stiffness of the sidewalls, which is also directly proportional to perceived ride comfort.
That being said, I just picked up a set of Michelin PSS from Costco for ~$960 (incl. tax) and am just waiting to have them installed. Will try to give an objective review once they're on.

Most (if not all) of the reviews I've read on the Continentals have made mention of their squishy turn-in (DW and DWS variants, especially the DWS). A lot of people seem to love them and I strongly considered a set of DWs, but I didn't want to sacrifice too much of the sharpness.

If you don't mind the funky ass weird tread pattern design, BFGoodrich KDW2 are pretty awesome street tires for the money.
If budget is a #1 priority, in my opinion, the Ventus V12 and the FK452 are the best choices. Otherwise, I'd save up and get either the PSS or PS2 (barely cheaper though) from Michelin. Hands down best street tire ever.

Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta. Amazing tires for the price, installed them on my car two weeks ago, can't say a bad thing about them. Amazing wet and dry performance. I highly recommend this tire.
