Request: paddle retrofit on the non-sport wheel
I really would like to add paddle shifters to my 330i (06, non-sport wheel).
Unfortunately, upgrading from the regular wheel to paddle shifter going the OEM way calls for replacing pretty much everything, wheel, airbag, trim, electronic buttons, etc, etc, and the total price is nowhere justifiable (at some point, if installing a mod costs more than buying a newer car that has it, its nonsensical). I'd rather retrofit paddle on my current wheel. Sure the sport (and especially the mtech wheel) are pretty, but they are not $1700 pretty. Look at what this guy did on is E39, looks very OEM and cost in the low $200 with all parts included. Awesome. http://www.bimmerboard.com/forums/posts/610491 Does anybody knows if the inside of the wheel on the E90 has similar good pieces of aluminum going trough that can be used to do the same trick? Any existing DIY on the subject? I found something about the M sport wheel: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...61&postcount=3, but nothing about the non sport wheel. If nobody chimes in, I might try it anyway and see what happens ![]() |
