I am looking to find a retailer or someone who has tire storage tags for sale. These would be used for swapping summer and winter wheels and giving me the chance to mark the location as I store the wheel set.

What do you mean by location? Have you tried using masking tape on the barrel?

Yeah, I have tried a number of different techniques...but I am looking to buy a set of permanent use tags for when I switch out my tires.

essentially a plastic tag that slides on the valve stem, or something similar.

I know this is an old post but I was looking for the same thing and came across this posting. If anyone is interested there is a place to get them. I just ordered myself - haven't got them yet but it's exactly what I was looking for. tire-tags.com
