DEPO projector90 upgrade DIY - work in progress

FYI i baked these open and replaced with x244 led angel eyes. ill update the diy with it but they make the angels 100000x better

Installed mine a month ago using your DIY,Thank You

Threw zero errors using no cancelers and canbus xenon replacement system..

Looking forward to the angel eye DIY. I have the LED AEs from Jlevi but i want them to be brighter. Is it possible to swap out with OSS?

are you talking about the 4x LED per angel eye or the 244x LED? cuz the 244 looks exactly the same as OSS and is insanely bright. Id be surprised if they werent identical rings

I have the four led AEs which are ehh...

Some one else replaced theirs with x240 UHP LED AEs which what I think is what you did. Probably going that route, thinking about buying today.

My only question is; I am getting some flickering in my current AEs and not all the LEDs are coming on. Is that a result of the crappy AEs or would the cancelers fix that because I am currently running error free with out any cancelers for the DEPOs??

i had a few of the old x4 leds go out, i think its just poor build quality and the lights coming loose out of the housing. DEF upgrade to the uhp you will NOT be sorry. once you open them up youll see how/why the original rings suck and why they go out

Just installed mine. 1000x better.

Wasn't to hard of an install, putting my headlights in the oven was giving a little bit of a panic but there wasn't any problems. You weren't kidding about those 4 LED rings, terrible design and quality. And I think I paid an extra hundred for those crappy LED AEs.

Can I assume you mean to put the headlights in an oven at 200 degrees Fahrenheit? a friend of mean was reading this and almost started prehating his oven at 200 degrees Celcius, which seemed a bit over the top to me :-)

try umnitza, as stated in an oss thread they use a version of the orion v2. so the p90 from umnitza has the same rings oss has

Had my OEM's back in for the past month since one of my HID bulbs went out and I decided to retrofit the whole thing instead of just replacing the bulb.

Putting the fishcake 240x rings in as well as RX-R 3.0 projectors from Theretrofitsource with 50w 5k morimoto ds2 bulbs and a 50w canbus.

I opened up the depo headlights yesterday. Read about using a heatgun and thought that'd be easier to do. Turns out oven is diffinently easier as using a heatgun to get enough heat on it to actually soften up the seal without you standing there forever requires more heat than I am wanting to use. Sure you can actually do it, because people have, but I decided to fall back on the oven. Pre-heated oven to 250F, stuck a headlight in for 15 minutes. Removed lights pried on it till the sealent felt hard again and than reheated a second time in oven for 10 minutes. Second time out, it came apart easily. Seeing how the glue cools off hard, would not recommend trying to use a heatgun.

Dont buy anything from Umnitza they have bad service, send wrong parts, damaged parts, and if your luck you will recieve it undamaged.

I am in the middle of doing a chargeback because my depo lights where damage and not put togther correctly. I purchased the depo headlights with O v2, FX-R, 35w, and stealth bulbs and paid $730 and its crap! I have called the owner Matt a hundred times, he SUCKS.

But anyways the O V2 are FU bright and you can see them from a mile away during the day, I have not yet seen a brighter AE

Should of just purchased projectors and installed them yourself like i did. Mine turned out a lot better. The infamous "FX-R" projector that they use is fake anyways. That is probably why you say they are crap. I bought Morimoto Projectors and swapped out my crappy depos
