Coolstream Bluetooth?
Anyone heard of this? Its a bluetooth device that plugs into a 30-pin connector (iPod/iPhone connector). I can't find any solid reviews over it that specify using it with a late model BMW. My main concern is that it will interfere with the bluetooth phone in my car already, or that it wont offer on-screen idrive control.

It's usually worthwhile to check Amazon for reviews on something and this is no exception. There are twenty reviews on Amazon for this device, including one stating the person couldn't get it to pair when trying to use it in a 2011 BMW 135i.
From the Amazon reviews, it seems very hit or miss with a lot more problems than successes. It's difficult to tell how much of this is user error or device problems, but I'd probably give it a pass. |

Generally, the phone will talk to the A2DP device, then switch to the handsfree device (your car) only for a call if both are paired.
But there are other problems. Like gpb says, reviews are poor. And MANY places, you can find that it doesn't pass control at all, ONLY audio. In which case, there's a Griffin device for a similar price point that people seem to love. |
