I'll be able to tell you if the HD bushing from Lemfoerder is stiffer than the M3 or not later today.

In your photo, the bushings do look to have less flex than oem 135/335, but still softer than the M3 by design.
With enough force to the right angle they break like twigs. Replaced mine after a minor accident

Nothing too complicated about the swap, correct?

What sort of force and at what angle was your tension rod joint exposed to? I can see hitting a parking stop or curb head on at speed can cause such a damage.

Nope not at all, it's as hard as replacing a wheel, with 3 less bolts to deal with. Replacing strut was a major PITA, dealing with compressing the spring and all.

Similar. Suspersion strut was bend as well, if I still have it I can take some pics. Amazingly enough the rest of steering and suspension components held up well. But wheel itself will be replaced

What is my diagnosis?

I recently replaced my front tires with the stock run flats that came with the car. After that was done, my steering wheel had a vibration. When I took it back for rebalancing, it did not help, but I kept driving that way. About a few months ago the car, a 2008 335i with 47K on it, started pulling so I took it to the dealer, and they did an alignment which helped. A month or 2 afterwords it started pulling again, and not trusting the dealer (and not wanting to pay full price) I took it to an independent shop and had an alignment done again, and rebalanced the front wheels. He said it was fixed but after driving it for another week it is not the case. It has a very mild wheel vibration between 55-60 mph, changes lanes on the highway, left or right, and when braking to stop, pulls either left or right. I went back to the same guy today, he drove it and said it was the front end bushing wearing, especially in the South Florida heat, and needs to be replaced at a cost of about $300. Any advice? Thanks!

You'll also need an alignment. Was that included?

Alignment maybe $100 - you can easily replace the arm yourself w/wear parts pre-installed.

Since all this started with new tires, balancing could still be an issue(?) After replacing my tires, with balancing, had a vibration. Went back for a corrective balancing which helped but still had some vibration. Changed tension struts. Helped some, but still a vibration at certain speeds. Finally, a road-force balancing eliminated the vibration.

Since I had 90k miles on the car, the tension strut replacement did firm-up the steering nicely, so no complaints.

I'd love to know what the resolution to this is. I have been going around in circles with the same issue on my car.
