iphone / Bluetooth question...

My iphone has been flawless to date with one exception.

I cannot listen to my voicemail via BMW Bluetooth system. All else works flawlessly.
I do not think it is a problem with the iphone because I have a 2 year old Jabra Bluetooth in which I can hear the voicemail.

Any suggestions/similar experiences?

Thanks.....

make sure you don't have the speaker icon selected in the voice mail app.

You are most likely using the iPhone's visual voice mail feature, which will NOT work through the car's bluetooth. Just use voicemail the "old" way by calling your own number and it will work fine.

Well, that sucks. Like I said before the visual voicemail works fine on my 2 year old Jabra bluetooth. You would think it would work on the new 335i.
Especially since BMW "welcomed" the iphone to BMW.

Yeah, annoyingly the iPhone doesn't trigger the "in-call" notification to the bluetooth system, as you don't really start a call (the messages are played back from the device itself, as they're downloaded from AT&T).

Your BMW needs the "in-call" notification to suspend the audio and start the bluetooth connection. It's acting as a handsfree/speakerphone device, and your headset acts as a "headset" device.

Frustrating - but it's Apple's fault (on this rare occasion!)

Just some additionally info.

I have a E46 and the visual VM worked since day one with the voicemail msg coming thru the car stereo while paired with the iPhone.

All of a sudden, I no longer get this to work.

The only thing major that changed was Apple's software update. I hope that is all it is and it will be fixed soon.

So just to let everyone know...it did work with my M3....
