17" tire question

Hey everyone.

Can someone help me out please? I currently have an ASA 17" winter set up for my 335. I'm running 215/45/17s on it. Just wondering if I can run a 205/45/17 without problems? I believe if I go down to a 205 i'm supposed to go up to a 50 profile but just wondering

why do you want to go skinnier? most ppl here run 225/45/17. also with a 215 or 205 on the back you're not giving your 335 much traction. i spin my 225s on wet roads

205/50R17 would be a better choice to keep the correct overall diameter and load capacity that is needed. As long as the wheels are 17X7.5 (not 17X8), the 205/50R17 will work with no problem.

Friend has (2) brand new 205/45/17 that he was going to give me so I was going to put that up front and leave the 215 in the rear.

Most likely i'll just keep what I have though

The stock tires on my 328 are 225/45/17 and I'm gonna go to 245/35/19 when I get my wheels! NO clue why you'd want such a skinny tire on a performance sedan.

only when you're driving in snow. not when its dry/wet roads in the cold and you have close to 300tq at the back wheels

205/45R17 is too short. Stick with 205/50R17 or 225/45R17.
