SOS Error After Aftermarket Deck Install
Hey guys, I got a nice kenwood dnx9980 deck installed in place of the stock one and got the sos error. I know that the stock deck is required to be installed in order for the car to have a complete circuit, and also the DIY of installing the stock deck in your trunk in order to get rid of the SOS error. I've been searching around the forums for a possible coding approach that can remove the MOST part of the code I believe or w.e part of the code reads the stock deck as part of the circuit.

There's an aftermarket module that will help bypass the most.
The Mini Cooper guys found it online. I forget where. Google will likely help. I'll try to look when I'm in front of a computer later. |

I couldn't find it. It's on north american motoring. But it's there in the audio section somewhere. I'm certain the guys on here have figured it also. I'm 99% sure crutchfield offers the part.
basically, you have 2 or 4 fiber optic cables in the back of that radio. You need to close that open circuit to complete the MOST ring. It's a token ring of sorts, it HAS to be closed. You then can code your radio out. |
