I understand from some earlier threads that, unfortunately, this does not work (for any phone, not just BB). It's not a part of the BT integration.

I have a Blackberry 8100 (Pearl) through T-mobile. It downloads my entire address book via bluetooth (about 500+ contacts, each with multiple numbers).
Each number shows up as "FirstName Lastname - Home, work, or mobile". I can dial any number through the iDrive voice commands by simply saying the name (first and last) followed by which number I want to call (home, work, or mobile). There are a few names which have difficult pronunciations, which haven't worked well with voice commands. But it has been fairly accurate for me, so far. I should also add that there is no voice training necessary when you have iDrive.

So is it possible that the iDrive voice command is different than the non-iDrive voice command? Maybe that's why I've seen some say the phone's voice dialing doesn't work while some say they can do everything, including using the phone's voice dialing through the car.

BB 8830 with 07 335i
everything works great except car does not accept voice command to "save name", forcing me to manually dial or dial by #. It is at the dealer now, they're going to test to see whether "save name" works with one of their approved phones.

BB 8830 and Nav System
Good news is I have Nav which will allow name searches directly into the phone so there is no need to "save names" nor is there a command for that. bad news is voice recongnition of names is poor, tried to call Andy and it asked if I wanted to call Anne, my English is fine
Also, how would you pronounce AAA? So it's a good system in that you don't have to input #s manually, but the recognition leaves some to be desired. |

Blackberry 8703E
production 06/07 Integrated and worked right away. only downside i can see is that it will not duplicate phone numbers in my address book ie if i have 50 contacts at a customer and their number is xxx-xxx-xxxx it will only enter the number for the first contact. all the other contacts will be there, however the main number is only listed under the first contact alphabetically. So i either have to enter separate contacts for customer beginning with A or know who's name is first alphabetically to make the call. Does anyone else see the same thing? Quality and voice dialling are great. |
