Just FYI... these do flicker during bulb check on startup....

Indeed, every LED replacement I've seen (interior bulbs aside) will. However, the fix is easy: find someone who can code out bulb-check on those specific bulbs (takes less than 30 seconds), or if you're feeling particularly adventurous, do it yourself.

anybody replace their reverse lights w/ LEDs for pre lci e90? seems like all of this is all for lci..
if not, are the halogen replacements the same for pre lci's too (bulb housing, fitment)? |

http://autolumination.com/1156_1157.htm - you'll want the white 1156 version of the 7-Watt Eagle Eye SMT tower. It's ridiculously bright. However, it will throw errors. But the fix is easy! You can either: wire in a resistor, or get the bulb-check on those bulbs coded out. Super simple. |

I did the rear fog light switch a while back and ended up driving with rear fogs and of course later that week noticed that the bulbs were too powerful and ended up melting the housing from the inside of the taillight trunk part, so...i already got them replaced at the stealership. Now, I am looking to change those bulbs from the standard bulb to an LED, but having a hard time finding one which will fit properly and not heat up at all so that it doesnt melt again. I have a 2011 E92 LCI |

isnt the clear plastic part on the taillight separate from the rest? meaning, isnt it closed off, so technically it will light up the clear plastic part and since its closed off, it will reflect off of the chrome parts inside the closed off sides of the backup/reverse part of the headlight...and i was just simply pointing out that someone else created something like this and that it looks very cool/sleek.

What i meant by lighting up the housing is that it will light up the reverse light area of the housing but not project a lot of light out on the area behind the car. I was not trying to be rude or anything. Just something i found from experience

I've had good luck with these so far:
http://www.v-leds.com/5K-WHITE-19-LE...07296-1-2.html And I imagine these would be even better since the projector lens bypasses the crappy reflector: http://www.v-leds.com/6K-WHITE-9W-LE...96372-1-2.html You shouldn't get errors with either of these bulbs on an E90 LCI (note: may not apply if the vehicle is a Pre-LCI upgraded with LCI tail lights). For a superbright application, I'm looking into retrofitting these http://www.v-leds.com/V3-TRITON-RED-...-p9815034.html into every incandescent bulb in my E90's tail lights (1 pair rear fog, 1 pair reverse, 2 pairs brake). I know the installation won't be a simple plug-and-play like they are designed for since we have these fancy bulb carriers... |

I did but here was my concern: PAMidge: "I have been using both the halogen and the LED for about 1 week without any issues nor error codes - something that was a problem with my old LED bulbs - days without bulb errors, then a string of days with them." -- I reallly do not want to deal with errors, and if the ones I just purchased do have errors as well, I'll likely just go back to stock till a true, bright, no error option comes available. |

Well I can say that since I installed mine, and upgraded to the bigger ones too, I have not thrown an error code at all. They have worked flawlessly >1.5 years.

I see... well then hopefully this works out! Thanks for the suggestions... I'll definitely report my findings with these as well.
