135i coupe - worth the wait?
I'd been waiting to get a 323i or 325i e92 for a while now and recently the news of the 135i has really made me change my mind. The 335i twin-turbo engine in a smaller body would rock especially if it's in the same price bracket (ie. <80k) of the 323i.
Anyone has any insider info about the pricing of the new 135i in Aust.? Anyone else also delaying their purchase of their e92 till the launch of the 135i next year? |

135i coupe arrives in Australia Q1 2008, in either late Jan or early Feb, estimated costing is around 80-85k (incl. on roads). So the wait shouldn't be too long, it's definately right up my list at the moment about propespective purchases and cars to test drive before making up my mind and putting pen to paper.
As a bang for your buck BMW you can't go past it, from the numbers already out, it's quicker than the E92 335i and the E46 M3 (over 0-100km/h) which i can imagine is a little disturbing for some people concerned with resales.

The 135i with proceed chip can't be beat I suspect.
As for the 335, well it's probably depreciated $50k already! |

Been watching that red 135i promo clip of the at youtube at least once a day recently... can't wait till that hot rod lands on our shore for me to test-drive....I really hope that it will cost less than the 325i e92 which usually ends up almost 100k drive-away. At that price point surely it will make the 135i much less attractive as the 335i becomes not too far off. I have the feeling that we Aussies are gonna be once again shafted in terms of pricing - we can only hope it won't be too much this time round
P.S. Finally found a new reason ($$$) to take up all those horrid overtime shifts from my colleagues.... |

As BMW//MPOWER said, its definately bang for your buck BMW. I still can't believe what BMW were thinking when they decided to release a coupe thats 0.4 seconds slower to a 100km/h then the upcoming M3. Im even contemplating to order a 135 instead of an m-sports 335.

If the car is a good drive and i can get it on the road for sub 90k, i may just have to seriously consider getting one (if i'm happy with everything else), other car's i'm considering are the e92 328i (whenever they finally bring that here) and a 2-3y.o E46 M3, if the 135i is cheaper and just as much or more fun, it's going to be a difficult option to pass up!

For me I just go to www.youtube.com and search "BMW 135i". You'll get about 15 or so nice videos ... just pick the longest one to enjoy. They're all from the same original BMW promo release.
This one's pretty nice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YX8JrKfqqk8 |

I'm wondering if you can just pop the 335 proceed into the 135. V2 of the proceed is outputting about 530 Nm of torque and around 260kw at the crank! imagine that in the 135!! surely this type of tuning must be detrimental to the lifespan of the engine but for $2k it's worth a punt!
