New mods that will be performed at BMW....filtration
As i stated above, i talked to my SA and asked if they would be willing to install a secondary fuel filter(1-5 micron) as well as a secondary oil filter (1 micron)and they said YES! they will modify my car to accept 2 new filter install in parallel. I also ordered from my garage a methanol injection kit. Let the game begin. My appointment is on December 3. Will let you all know how things goes from there.I'm also awaiting the Wagner IC upgrade.

That's good. An idiot I work with has a dual oil filter setup on a Toyota Yaris :/ and he claims he changes his oil every 38,000km... He claims it runs just as good as they day he bought it new.. Although listening to his car as he drives it into work sounds like it is about to die. His commute is about 140km day and has racked up well over 240,000km.

If you really want to know what is going on with your engine oil, try these guys: http://www.blackstone-labs.com/free-test-kits.php I've used these tests to gain insight to major component life (transmissions, differentials, hydraulics systems and engines) as well as to not waste money changing good oil. $25 will tell you the exact condition of the oil and how the engine is wearing at the time of the sample. The reports are interesting because you see oil additive life, wear components as well as coolant and fuel contamination. Bad injectors will often show as trace fuel levels in the oil. -Michael |
