No DVD Video even when stationary!

E90s purchased in Hong Kong have DVD playback TOTALLY disabled by default... so whether or not the engine is running, handbrake is engaged, idle or moving, I see this message every time I attempt to play a DVD (see attached pic).

Went through the procedure to enable DVD in motion but everything stays the same. No DVD playback period. I am sure I did things right as I already have enabled quite a few other features, some via NETTODAT coding. So I am pretty sure I have done the coding properly.

Does anyone know how to enable DVD playback when NOT in motion?

Cheers and thank you!

Maybe compare your original trace file to another trace file for same exact module and find the differences.

Can't help without you posting the CIC trc file.

In comparing to another US CIC module here are the differences (notes in parenthesis are how the US trc showed):

DVDVIDEO_AOP
aktiv (was nicht_aktiv)
ENT_VIDEO_VORNE_GESPERRT
aktiv (was nicht_aktiv)
VIDEO_WATCHDOG_SIDEVIEW
aktiv (was nicht_aktiv)

ENT_VIDEO_VORNE_GESPERRT translates to Video Front Locked.
Turn that to nicht_aktiv and theoretically problem solved.
After that try the others.

Beer money always appreciated! lol
Happy friday guys.

Changing ENT_VIDEO_VORNE_GESPERRT did the trick. Grant you rock!

Focus now shifts to DVD in motion.

Just to share my experience - the TOOL32.exe method did not work for me. But the data2txt CIC.C1A mod worked perfectly.

Yea, I only ever use method 2. The first method is pretty involved.

Glad I could help.
