Superchips offer

Got this emailed today, just thought I'd make you all aware of the offer they have on if anyone's thinking about a map soon.

I have a Bluefin and it's certainly made my car a lot more responsive, more punchy low down etc.. all the usual stuff you'd expect with a remap. I bought it originally for an A6 2.0tdi I had a few years ago (under warranty so could remove it) and it made a whole world of difference to that so I got it reprogrammed for the 3.

What engine have you got FRG?
Have you noticed better fuel economy as well as a performance gain?

I have an 09/177 320D. They're showing 44BPH gain which takes the car up to 221BHP! Seems a lot!

It's the M57 194bhp 325 (3.0l) diesel. They quote a max. 62bhp increase and torque up from 400nm to a max. 520nm. I've not had it on a rolling road to find out what it is producing but I'm thinking of doing it in the new year.

As for the fuel, I've not noticed a difference really from before which I suppose is a good thing as it gets driven a little quicker now . Brilliant traffic light grand prix car, it embarrases all the hot hatch boys anyway, but I think RWD is a major factor in that

Are these mapped individually to the car?

I seem to remember them being generic maps made for models and therefore does not take in to account the differences two cars of the same model can have. If that makes sense.

Be aware if you have a 09 onwards 177 320D they might not be able to map it. This is the issue I had my ECU was one of the new coded ones and it was just not possible. Actually went to the HQ as they where near my client to have it checked out.

IF they can 220bhp out of a 320D is fine. In past I run a e46 with 198bhp and stock was 155bhp.

Only things can be a bit problematic it seems if its a auto. If manual only thin you might want to do is fit a intercooler from a 330D apart from that its fine

They got 215bhp out of my 58 plate 320d .... but I didn't like the way it affected the car and particularly the gearbox ... so had the map taken off. It certainly increased the power significantly and smoothly ... but the effect on other bits of the package was horrible - the car simply didn't like it and something was not right.

They refunded the money OK but were not as polite when I suggested the map didn't suit the car as when I have had other maps off them (3 or 4 which were all fine on other cars).

I spoke to their big boss (Jamie?) but the experience made me decide I would not use them again - it was just his manner I didn't like when I asked what I considered to be quite reasonable questions.

Given I had been really happy with other maps and their service I was very surprised ... and disappointed ... as I have been a customer for in the region of 15 years
