Airbag light. Software?
I need help finding software to reset my e90 airbag light. Quick story, I took my car to the track but I wanted her lighter, so I took out the rear and passenger seats to help. Of course I took the battery out as a safety so the bag wouldn't go off in my face, had to plug it in, so there's the light, ignored it until time came to replace the passenger seat, light still on, never knew it needed to be reset by computer . So now I'm stuck with it, trying to find forums on how to find the software and how to install, but not much help due to dead links. I have an OBDII cable that works and I've used it to clear codes, obviously this isn't just a simple code, so I need to find a way to get the INPA, or the program that begins with an E I think Edibas, or something, please can someone help? And if there's anyone willing to do it lower than the dealship price in the NJ area, I would pay for such services. Thanks a lot forumers! |

Bavarian Technic might be the easiest out-of-the-box solution, but not the cheapest.
http://www.bavariantechnic.com/ A cheaper INPA K+DCAN cable will work, but it's a hassle finding the software since it is technically not for public consumption and any copy you find has been leaked, so there's dozens of configurations floating around. That said, the One-Stop cable is the de facto forum standard for K+DCAN: http://www.one-stop-electronics.com/...&product_id=16 |

Please elaborate. What do you mean when you say you can't clear them? Does it not have a Clear EM for your ABS? Does it give an error if you try? Does it work without error, but you still have the light on in the car? Is the problem that caused the fault actually corrected?

When I click on airbag in inpa I get sys00-12 error Idenification error. If I run the funcional Jobs error list I can see all errors on all modules two of which are on the MRS module I guess I am assuming that is the airbag module. But I cannot get to the more specific errors direcly on the module. Unlike the engine module I had a missfire p0301 cylider 1 and I can go to the engine and click n54 and get the errors with time and miles and whether it causes a warning light or not. I will try and post a video tonight. I really want to avoid going to the dealership.

I followed the BMW CODING SUCCESS thread to get my stuff to work properly. just follow the DIY.PDF word for word and you should be fine. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=451145
I am also coding using a win. 7 x32 bit netbook. I could not get a windows xp VM to work with this. as to OP's request, maybe the best thing to do is to just turn off the OC3 on the ABG module using NCSexpert. then clear any codes INPA gives you. My passenger occupancy seat sensor was screwed up with me, I turned this off & now i don't have air bags warning or seat belt warnings for my passengers. I believe the airs bags will go off in the case of an accident whether or not a passenger is there.

I bought the good cable, and did not recieve a cd. I worked with xxxj..... directly for the files and DIY he is the one that started the "coding success" thread. INPA works on some of my modules and can read my ecu and many other things but cannot read my airbag. My steering wheel has never been removed so I am sure it is not the driver's airbag, and the light in the roof for the passanger airbag works correctly which is usually a sign that the seat sensor is working correctly. When someone sits in the seat and they put their seatbelt on light goes out in roof meaning airbag will deploy. I tried seatbelt in with nobody in the seat the light turns on so the airbag will not deploy.
